Google Voice does nothing at all that would improve cell phone reception at your home! And no, you can't do invites as you could with GMail. You can sign up for Google Voice and eventually they will get back to you with a number. Google Voice provides a "one number to rule them all" that you can use to flexibly redirect calls to other numbers, like your home number, your mobile etc. And it's got free voicemail transcription and a bunch of other features, with more to come. But calls out require the use of another device (landline, mobile phone etc). Essentially what it does it produce a conference call between your device and the number that you are calling. What's the good of that? International calls for cheap, mostly. The devices that do improve mobile phone reception are called femtocells. Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile have launched these (or are just about to) . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femtocell They work by connecting to the broadband in your home and making use of that to provide range limited mobile phone coverage. I believe that if you have a Verizon one, for example, AT&T phones won't be able to make use of it and vice-versa. __________________ Joseph Steig | more info at http://www.steig.com joseph at steig.com | Direct: 617-500-7376 On Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 1:13 AM, J.
