My 2 cents. I use Windows and Mac, but gotta say that I feel it's more down to the skill of the designer than the platform. Go with the platform you feel most comfortable with - these days there's no real discernable difference in design software on either. I've been running both simultaneously for multimedia for about a decade now. And they've never been closer than they are now. There are now certainly aspects of even a Vista PC that are better than the Mac - managing accounts, for instance. I'd say it really depends on specifically what you are doing with the machine. Dina, Mac is better, but not to say you CAN'T do the same on a PC. But on a Mac you CAN run WINDOWS, so you can have the best of both worlds. I'm sure Tom Adams will chime in on this subject. I'm a graphic designer and have been using Macs since the late 80's when they were developed. My latest Mac was a G4 Titanium Laptop, which I purchased about 6 years ago. I spent the last 3 years doing marketing and events, with only side graphics jobs. Now that my graphics works has picked up again, I realized I have to buy a new laptop. My question: Is the Mac still superior to the PC in graphics, audio and video editing? I know the Adobe Pro suite and the Macromedia suite are cross platform. Many people are using PC's for audio and video editing. And everything for Mac is more expensive. I have to update soon, I'd love to hear some feedback.
