Even if I whitelist someone, if they send a HTML-only message, my procmail recipe auto-replys and *discards* the HTML-only message. I don't use an E-Mail program that can display HTML -- this is by design. I running a nightly program to 'dust' my spam folder, getting rid of messages with certain spamassassin tags. I do keep a log of everything procmail processes, just in case something falls through the cracks.
