[Hidden-tech] blogging advice

The question is, are you willing to install and maintain software to run
your blog? If you are, I'd recommend running WordPress on your own server.
(See http://wordpress.org )

This would allow you to map your blog to a subdirectory (like
www.izzyg.com/blog ). The /blog
subdirectory would count as part of your main site, maximizing search engine
rankings. I'd recommend this over a subdomain (like blog.izzyg.com ), if
you're willing to run the software.

If you don't want to run blog software yourself, consider Blogger and
WordPress, with a custom subdomain.
For $10/yr, you can use WordPress on blog.izzyg.com/ :
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/

Or you could use Blogger on blog.izzyg.com/ :

TypePad allows you to register your own domain, but I don't know if they let
you use a subdomain of an existing site.

Good luck, and happy blogging!
