The question is, are you willing to install and maintain software to run your blog? If you are, I'd recommend running WordPress on your own server. (See http://wordpress.org ) This would allow you to map your blog to a subdirectory (like www.izzyg.com/blog ). The /blog subdirectory would count as part of your main site, maximizing search engine rankings. I'd recommend this over a subdomain (like blog.izzyg.com ), if you're willing to run the software. If you don't want to run blog software yourself, consider Blogger and WordPress, with a custom subdomain. For $10/yr, you can use WordPress on blog.izzyg.com/ : http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/ Or you could use Blogger on blog.izzyg.com/ : http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=55373 TypePad allows you to register your own domain, but I don't know if they let you use a subdomain of an existing site. Good luck, and happy blogging! -Jodi On Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 2:36 PM, Ron Miller <ronsmiller at comcast.net> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > Izzy: > In terms of a platform, WordPress is open source, so that means there are > lots of free templates and a community to help you.
