[Hidden-tech] Final Cut Pro 6 output challenge

Fellow FCPro-6 users,

I'm trying to output ("print to video") two edited pieces. They appear to be too long for an iMac to handle. Either the picture looks great, but the audio drops out every few seconds. Or picture and sound are fine for c.20 mins and then the iMac freezes on one frame for the rest of the show. 

These pieces run 59mins and 93mins and  are on a  Maxtor  ext drive . If you're set up to provide this service, I'd come to you.
