Hi all, It's my plan to be at the Hidden-Tech party on Thursday to see as many of you as possible and thank you for making Hidden-Tech what it is today. I read with tremendous interest all the posts that came out of my offer, on behalf of the Ad Club, for someone to assist them with their Web site design. The range was amazing. There were those who felt doing pro bono work did not honor their professionalism (let alone need to make a living); those who talked up marketing in a recession and even one post that addressed the altruistic side of pro bono work and the personal satisfaction it can bring. I thought, wow, I didn't know any of you seven years ago in the fall of 2001 when, shattered from being in NYC on 9/11 and suffering business loss, I knew it was time to do something for myself and all the virtual businesses in the Valley. The isolation of running a home-based office was becoming pretty tough. The idea of forming a business networking group just for this sector and calling it Hidden Tech was born. But it's all of you (not to mention the HT board) who took that glimmer of an idea and dream and made it reality along with me. And it's the current board that has kept Hidden-Tech alive these last two years after I stepped down from the board to address family and business issues. So today, when I feel glum about business prospects, need a helping hand or to solve a problem, I have a place to turn to and people who can help me -- all of you. Hope to see many of you Thursday!
