Hi Robin,

Another term for memoirs is personal histories and personal historians have a national association of 650 members that was founded right here in the Valley in 1996. The Association of Personal Historians would be a useful resource for you.

Three top-notch APH members are based close by in Florence, Hadley, and Amherst. They are Donna Kenny, Eileen McCarthy Rakouskas, and Kitty Axelson-Berry.

The APH's directory at http://www.personalhistorians.org/members.php allows you to sort profiles by location, content speciality, and services (i.e. print editing, video memoirs, etc). With the sorted profiles, you can quickly see their professional experience and range of services before deciding which ones your client might want to call.

I know many of the memoir editors from annual APH conferences and would be happy to talk with you.

  Hi, everyone.

I am seeking an editor for memoirs. Someone who can work with people's writing in a way that is respectful and with integrity to the author's own voice.

I am sure there is someone out there to fit the bill.

  Thanks, All!

  Robin
