Press Contact: April Cloutier, Director of Operations, RTC 413-755-1314 For Immediate Release Breaking through: it-enabled business opportunities event Springfield, MA - April 1, 2008 - The Regional Technology Corporation (RTC) is pleased to announce that its Technology Enterprise Council (TEC) network will be holding a business focused information technology event on Friday, April 11th from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Baystate Health Education Center, 361 Whitney Avenue in Holyoke, Massachusetts. This educational and entrepreneurial event is just the first in a series of events focused on information technologies in the region for 2008. Paul Gillin, award-winning writer, former editor-in-chief of Computerworld and founding editor-in-chief of TechTarget, is the morning keynote speaker. Mr. Gillin will be available to sign copies of his latest book, The New Influencers: A Marketer's Guide to the New Social Media. A panel discussion will follow with regional Executives from such companies as Comcast, MassMutual, Inherent and Court Square Group. Together, they represent the biotechnology, financial services, and communications sectors and will be discussing IT-enabled business opportunities in their industry sectors. These "senior" companies are already working with the latest information technologies which they will share with attendees. TEC expects this format and its participants to provide business opportunities for technology companies in the region - regardless of size. "Our intent with this program is to help the region's technology companies of all sizes to identify new IT products that will help to stimulate growth. We believe companies attending this event will walk away with at least one useful idea or tool in order to take their company to the next level," added Gordon F. Snyder, Jr., Executive Director of the National Center for Telecommunication Technologies (NCTT) and Chair of RTC's TEC network. The April 11th event is $15 to RTC members and $50 to non-members.
