Charlie, it's good to hear about your client's new medical devices. It'd be
interesting to learn about their innovative technology. As do many
Hidden-tech participants, I live in the Pioneer Valley (Connecticut River)
area in western Mass. I'm also a founding member of a new hi-tech
non-profit located in Waltham, MA (see link below to our evolving and partly
built site).

We specialize in research on direct business uses from advanced semantic
technologies along lines that depart from the social networking and tagging
often associated with semantics. Your client might find significant value in
(a) facet-based market access tools enabling prospects to hone in on right
product solutions given an array of facets (aspects or requirements) of
interest, and (b) new analytic tools for predicting interest, intensity, and
intent based on interaction with any choice-based system (e.g., a
facet-based market access tool).

In addition, depending on the focus of your client's medical technology,
there may be value to your client from technology we own that generates
active agent-based preemptive alerts across patterns of information. This
capability may be highly relevant to support responsive, process-based
technical medical products.

Finally, one founding member specializes in research and tools for market
communications optimization. This too sounds on target as a likely topic of
interest to your client.

I'd be happy to talk with you about helping your client get going.

BTW, am I correct that Manresa Information Systems is a telecommunications
consulting firm in the Fort Collins, CO, area? What brought you into the
Hidden-tech sphere-sounds like an interesting connection.

Best regards,

       David

Subject: [Hidden-tech] Marketing thoughts

Hi, folks. My company has enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with a
tech company that has produced three or four highly innovative and useful
new products over the past ten years. We have supported them with
programming and consulting services. They have returned the favor by
designing and building prototypes for us.

This company is presently sitting on three or four very attractive new
products. One is a very effective and revolutionary medical device system.
Another is a product that would appear to have great universal appeal and
applications. Unfortunately, this company has not been well served by their
marketing director (who is no longer with them) and has been slow in getting
these products into circulation. They have come to us for any advice we
might be able to offer in getting these products some widespread exposure as
quickly as possible. Patenting, FDA certification and approval and those
kinds of things have already been taken care of. However, the products
remain dormant and other companies are already beginning to float
"knockoffs" out into the market.

While marketing is not one of our usual services, we would still like to
help. Obvious things like web sites, blogs and so on come to mind, I wonder
what suggestions the group might have for us in assisting this company to
get some exposure and get their (pretty amazing) new products to market. We
would appreciate any suggestions you have to offer. Thanks!

Regards,
Charlie Wilber
