Thought I would add two more items, then drop this thread.

1. Just read a short article in Conformity Mag. There is a published study
"recording nearly 50 incidentsof electromagnetic interference from the use
of mobile phones in hospitals"...three quarters of these were "significant
or hazardous."

Small items like incorrect pulsing of external pacemakers and complete
stops in syringe pumps.

It goes on to say that "Critical care equip is vulnerable to EM
interference by new-generation wireless telecommunication technologies with
median distances of abpout 3 cm."

The article says that the paper is at Critical Care, an online journal

Looks like we don't give Uncle George the cell phone when he is in the ICU.

(Yes. I know Cooley-Dick doesn't allow cell phone useage in the building)

2. I should have mentioned for all those very concerned about this stuff,
your wrist-watch radiates a very small amount of EM energy at 32 KHz. All
quartz clocks & watches do. However the amount is under 2 nanowatts so the
device doesn't require FCC approval.

Cell Phones and EMF Risks Study

There are finally some long term studies coming out and the results are
not good.  Please pass this on.

A condensed look at the picture:

- long term cell phone use (for as little as one hour per day) for 10
years results in a 20 - 30% increased risk in two types of brain cancer

- there is clear information that children are more at risk and should
never use them

- the studies impact relates both to cell phones, but also common
cordless phones and other EMF emitting devices (like high power lines)
