In 2006 we launched FanNation, a Web 2.0 destination that puts the sports fan at the center of the experience, with tools like user blogs, comments, groups and games. We are constantly looking for opportunities to build innovative applications such as fantasy games, sports news aggregation and user-generated content. The Opportunity With the relaunch of FanNation, and other ongoing projects, we are growing and seek to add another UI designer. This is a key position that will be involved in determining the look and feel, as well as the overall user experience, of our applications. We are a small, tight-knit team of passionate developers and engineers creating solutions using the latest innovations in web application technology. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop visual strategy, including color scheme and design themes, under the direction of the Design Director. • Create visual designs to present internally and to clients. • Work closely with developers to turn designs into finished applications. Experience: • 2 - 5 years of experience in web design. Experience in information architecture a plus. • Solid conceptual understanding of how web applications function, including a grasp of relevant technologies, such as database-driven web apps. • Candidates without formal work experience but with exceptional design skills will be considered. Education: • BA or BS preferred. Skills: • Strong layout, color theory, and typography skills. • Ability to turn your Photoshop design into a finished web page with clean CSS and XHTML. • Ability to learn quickly. • Ability to multitask between projects. • Ability to understand a brand and maintain its integrity throughout a design. • Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to team members. • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work with both technical and business staff.
