[Hidden-tech] Question about business promotions]

Kathy and a number of others have responded to Amy's questions,
with a good discussion of what HT can/will/should do for 'members',
and exactly what 'members' means.

This discussion will be continued in person in our Annual HT
self-introspective session in Feb.

Also, since Kathy (and a few others) mentioned that others can't really
comment on Amy's request to remove the honorarium page unless they
can see it, so we have left it up for a few weeks.

Also, a clarification - that text on the page is exactly what Amy
has in her company listing.

In response, to Michael's comments - actually many people do 'register'
to get a complete listing, because all registering does is allow you
into the site for a full listing which prevents whole scale downloading
of member information list. The list for which we have many requests, for
the purpose of blant promotion.

As for the need for a directory - very much so - first we need to settle
what is for free and what is (paid) member only, which needs all your input.

As for the overall site comments, keep them coming, a number of people
have stepped up to do more work on the site and we need feedback from 
the whole HT community as to where to focus.

And yes we are all very thankful for Amy's contributions and wish to properly
thank her -- any other suggestions as to how ?

Hi Amy (and Hidden-Tech members),

I'm not certain whether the page I found this morning is the one you  
meant or not: under NEWS - under "Hidden Tech Founder Resigns for new  
adventures in life".

There I saw three links related to your resignation and what looked  
like your standard short blurb used on programs for events meant to  
promote member organizations.  And I can see why you are concerned  
it's not really the appropriate information for such a page.  Better  
would be something more specific to the skills you brought to the  
formation of Hidden Tech and how they've helped shaped the organization.

This mirrors more closely the policy used (or that I think is used -  
I could be ill-informed) for this list.  Mentioning your service  
offerings while answering a related question is acceptable by posting  
an unrequested advertisement is not.

While I commend you for your concern over the issue of personal  
promotion over that of other Hidden Tech companies, I would  
respectfully suggest that the maintainers of the site delay pulling  
the page as you requested for a week so that members interested in  
discussing the issue can see what's being discussed.
