I’ve met a number of people at Hidden Tech functions who do onsite computing
help, but now that I need some, I’m not sure whom to call, so I will
describe my problem and ask you to email me if you can help me, and let me
know your rates.

It’s just little annoying stuff. On my Dell Optiplex (bought in April 2006)
I use IE 6 and lately, when I click on links, sometimes the window opens up
and the graphics only partly show up and the window freezes. The window is
unclosable at that point, even with the Task Manager, so I have to reboot.

I can’t burn anything onto CDs. I keep getting a message that I need to put
a CD into Drive E, even though there is a new, empty CD sitting in there. I
downloaded Picasa2 last month and thought I was all set because I was able
to burn picture files onto a DVD using Picasa2, but a tiny picture project
onto CD did not work last night (which is when I found that I can upload
picture files to the CVS website and pick up photos in a few hours, but that
isn’t the appropriate workaround for all CD projects :-) )

On my other Dell computer (3 years old) that I use only for audio recording,
which is not ethernetted, I get a System32 box appearing every time I turn
the machine on. I would just like to make that go away.

Also, if anybody is familiar with Dada Mail, I would love to hear from you.

Many thanks

Mary
