[Hidden-tech] Salesforce

We use salesforce. It's a good product, very flexible. We do a lot of
custom programming with it to suit our business process. I think we
have over 20,000 contacts in the system. A couple years ago, they had
stability issues (I have an infamous blog post on that which was picked
up by CNET and some other media). It can be expensive as you grow your
organization; at least for the enterprise version.

An issue with them is that the contracts are yearly. If you ever decide
to leave, it almost has to occur at your anniversary date.

Here's a link to some of my blog postings, but they are from early 2006.
Things have really improved since then.

In retrospect, we might have done better with a product like NetSuite as
it offers more out of the box like ecommerce integration. But we now
have thousands of lines of code built to the salesforce API that would
be too costly to transition.

Is anyone currently using Salesforce? I would like to talk with anyone
who
has used this good and bad. We have about 10,000 contacts and I am
interested in purchasing this product. What has been your experience?

Thanks,
