Actually I'm a big RC model airplane flyer and there are a few hobby
shops left in Western Massachusetts. I mostly fly electric planes, and
the sport has come a long way. The new rage are Lithium-Polymer
batteries which can dish out ~50 amps at 11.1 volts for a 2100 mah pack
which weighs about 146 grams. Word of caution is that you would need a
special lipo charger in order to charge these batteries.

Anyways, probably the best place to get batteries would be "Barn Speed
Hobbies", which is out in Lee, Massachusetts.
http://www.barnspeedhobbies.com/

There is another hobby store down in West Springfield accross Riverdale
from Costco and Dicks. THis place is : Pioneer Valley Hobbies - 54
Myron St, West Springfield - (413) 732-5531

If you are going to purchase batteries online, I'd recommend using
www.towerhobbies.com. I've had a lot of good luck with their services.

Finally, I have a NIHM 3800mah 8.4v high performance remote control car
pack. It would sustain about 40amps. Its never been used and I'm
looking to sell it for 25 bucks. (its too heavy for my planes). Message
me off line if you want it.

Thanks
David
