Andrew,

I'm doing a review of ConceptDraw MINDMAP as we speak which integrates into
their cross-platform ConceptDraw Project. I know you didn't ask about
cross-platform, but regardless this might be a product to download and
review the trial. I've used FastTrack Schedule (www.aecsoft.com) for a while
and it's a good, basic program (also cross-platform) and a lot lighter than
Microsoft Project. A few quirks and bugs but manageable. They used to have a
Palm version which worked really well, but I think they may have abandoned
that product, unfortunately.
