The Unix command is ls.
You can copy and paste its output into a text file. More details
(in brief):

- Launch the Terminal Application
- use pwd to see what directory you are at at any point (probably
starts with your home directory /Users/yourAccountName)
- use "cd" to change to the desired directory. E.g. 'cd Documents/
CateringBusiness' (you may be able to type 'cd ' and then drag and
drop from a folder to get the directory path to insert automatically)
(BTW: unix is case-sensitive)
- the 'ls' command has a number of options. type 'man ls' to see
documentation. (space bar to continue to scroll down the
documentation, type control-z to exit documentation.

Examples:

'ls'
'ls -l' -- long form of directory

ls > ~/Desktop/folderlisting.txt -- will create a text file on
your desktop containing the output.

--good luck!
