[Hidden-tech] Dominion for home electric service?

Dominion's current rate for National Grid customers is 10.85 cents per kwH. That would be me, but I don't think I could have gotten that info from the bill; it came from this article: http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060928/NEWS/609280380/1002/BUSINESS

I suspect the teaser rate for WMECO customers to switch to Dominion won't leave you with a discount after December 31st.

  Hi all,

We just got a mailing from a company called Dominion, asking us to switch our electric service from WMECO to them. They're offering a rate that's 20% less than WMECO, good through the end of the year, and they say that next year's rates will depend on what WMECO's are.

I'm interested in the savings, but I'm doubtful about giving over something as important as electric service to an unknown company. Does anyone have experience working with them, or with any other private electricity provider? We've had one or two other mailings like this in the past.

  Thanks very much -
  Anne
