I am working on a project that will need a C# programmer as a subject matter expert. You'll look at an on-line course, note any technical problems, and help create/locate additional material to be included. Ideally, the person would be able to create some audio scripts for use in an on-line project, but the person can simply serve as a resource if s/he is not a writer. I will need 5-15 hours of time later in October/November. If anyone out there can help, please let me know. I'm developing an application for fun that will synchronize photos from Flickr to a local folder of photos. Read my <http://atalasoft.com/cs/blogs/billbither/archive/2006/09/25/10903.aspx> blog post for a brief explanation of why I would want to do this. This topic is intended on being a great learning experience for beginner to intermediate programmers. I also invite more advanced programmers to help drive this discussion. It covers many issues that a .NET developer might run across when writing a windows or web business application. Several concepts will be demonstrated including: * Programming against a 3rd party library (the <http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=FlickrNet> Flickr.NET library) * Separating UI from application logic * Windows Forms programming including a study of the Background Worker thread introduced in .NET 2.0 for effective asynchronous programming * The .NET event design pattern, and other .NET design guidelines * Manipulating XMP image metadata using .NET 3.0 RC1 * Demonstrating how to download a file using System.Net classes * Using static code analysis to follow standard design patterns * Given Time: using XAML and WPF instead of Windows Forms to create a UI (I could use help with this one!) In an attempt to attract a larger crowd and increase the "fun" factor, we will be starting this meeting at the Atalasoft office for the first hour, and concluding with some food and drinks at the Apollo grille. Please be prepared to spend at least $10-$15 on food, and possibly more if you plan on having a drink or two. About the speaker Bill Bither is the president and founder of Atalasoft, Inc. He has experience developing object oriented components and applications in the Imaging industry, and running a software company. He also employs developers much smarter than him.
