You can recycle old monitors/tvs at Greenfield transfer station for a fee ($10, I think) -- they make take obsolete computers, also. You might try YES! In Orange for PC parts and components. They have had a computer maintenance program for youths in the past, and they may want or know someone who may want them. Contact Tim Cohen-Mitchell, tim at yes-inc.org. Other than that, you can always try a tech school that has computer maintenance curriculum (like Franklin County Tech in Turners Falls or Putnam in Springfield) Good Luck! debbe -----Original Message----- From: hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net [mailto:hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net] On Behalf Of Andy Klapper Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2006 9:55 AM To: Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net Subject: RE: [Hidden-tech] Donating Computers Advise/Information? ** Be a Good Dobee and help the group, you must be counted to post . ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. Any ideas about parts/components? I have old CDROM drives, Ethernet, video, and sound cards that are not the latest, but do function. Is there any place that wants stuff like that? Where does one take broken TV's and really obsolete computers? My town tells me that they won't take the stuff, but cannot tell me who does, even for a fee. Andy. -----Original Message----- From: hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net [mailto:hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net]On Behalf Of Jade Harris Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2006 11:35 AM To: Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net Subject: [Hidden-tech] Donating Computers Advise/Information? ** Be a Good Dobee and help the group, you must be counted to post . ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. Anyone have information on donating "obsolete" computers? Do you know of any organizations/individuals that would be able to use older Macintosh notebooks/desktops? Preferably local. Would rather donate than recycle. Any info on donating computers would be helpful.
