[Hidden-tech] Aperture photography software

Hi Tom,

How are you? I hope you are doing good and are set for the holidays!
Thanks! Yes, the Intel Macs can support a second display -- with the
default graphics cards that come with the system. I think there is a
23" Cinema display size limit with the integrated card configuration.
The dedicated video card configurations will support up to a 30"
Cinema display.
This, according to YES Computers.

Aperture is looking really enticing! I've only used the RAW format a
couple of times during the past year so I haven't much experience
with it as a format. Granted, I don't do much hirez work these days.
But I'm actually working on some print stuff right now so I've been
plunged back into the hirez world.

I read some of the photog profiles on the Apple site who use Aperture
and I like the 'lightbox" feature that let's you storyboard your
images in a creative way while on location -- just dragging them
around -- to see if you've got everything covered and if not, you'll
know what else you need to shoot the next day. I'm a wannabee photo
journalist -- so this is of interest to me. I could see that feature
working well at a client meeting with a digital projector for
collaborating on a story idea in a brainstorming session.

I hope others have some experiences with Aperture to share.

Best,

Kimo
