[Hidden-tech] Stress Testing Web Applications

Hi Ben --

Are you looking to stress test the application or the server
infrastructure?

For example, is your interest in knowing if Apache (or other web server)
will stand up to hundreds (thousands?) of simultaneous requests, or if
your individual software units will stand up pressure?

We recently used The Grinder to load test our web and app servers:

	http://grinder.sourceforge.net/
(Note: Their web page seems slow today, ironically!)

For app code (Java?), consider Apache's JMeter. For other languages, I'm
sorry I can't help out.

I'm *guessing* that if you're looking to verify if a CMS (third party?)
can handle traffic, you want to shoot for something like The Grinder.

Ping me if you want to discuss further.
