[Hidden-tech] New to the list

Hello, Hidden-Tech guys...

My name is John Harrison and I will be relocating to the area over the next
few weeks. I¹ll be looking for design/production work and wanted to
introduce myself to this list, as it seems to be pretty active.

I¹ve been working as a prepress technician at a commercial printer for the
last 3 years here in Ithaca, and during that time have been responsible for
the prepress work for hundreds of files created with a variety of software
applications. This time spent in Œthe trenches¹ of publishing have made me
an expert with the various page layout and image manipulation software
packages, and I also love to teach and help others learn how to maximize
their use of these programs.

I¹d be equally comfortable in the production department of a magazine, or a
corporate publishing situation. Newsletters, mailers, any type of print
collateral comes easily to me. My web chops aren¹t quite on par par with my
print knowledge, but they¹re getting there and I intend to spend more time
homing those web skills upon arriving in the Pioneer Valley.
