In some situations, printing may indeed be a waste of supplies. And I even
save news articles (from a real newspaper or magazine, but are also online)
to my hard drive - instead of saving clippings because they are easier to
find and reduce clutter. 

But for irreplaceable and important documents, multiple media in multiple
locations offer the best protection against computer glitches as well as the
unlikely flooding or fire.
