Hi everyone... The changes that companies like AT&T propose re Net Neutrality will definigley effect the little guy (and I think most of us are little guys) disproportionately in relation to big business... Here's a good piece from the Wash Post that explains what's going on: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/24/AR2006032400256.html Along with MoveOn, y'all might want to regularly check out what the Electronic Frontier Foundation is doing. They're an advocacy group that keeps watch on issues pertaing to free speech and the internet. They've got some good information on the AOL "email tax"--something that might effect how a number of you do business or advise clients. Their addy is http://www.eff.org I had the great opporunity to talk with one of EFF's lawyers at a party when I went to SXSW Interactive last month. He told me about what the state of Texas was doing regarding net neutrality. The debates about net neutrality are going on at the state level also. Anyone who does business over the 'net, or any kind, should be keeping an eye on what their state govs are up to as much as on federal legislation.
