I just got a sales call from someone at Dun & Bradstreet wanting to sell me a $500 package to update my credit profile with them. I've had a Dun & Bradstreet "DUNS" number for some years, but have never paid them anything. The sales rep claimed that "four different companies have recently paid us $200-250 to access your profile and there is very little in it giving it a low rating." I have excellent credit with the regular credit agencies, but I don't know if Equifax and others track business credit. I assume that they do but have never checked. It seems that I can manually submit financial information to my profile if I want to, they just want me to pay them to do it and to check with credit references. Does anyone have any experience with D&B or know whether what there services and "profiles" are of any use?
