The Western Mass .NET Users  Group along with the Knowledge Bases Special 
Interest Group are hosting their  next monthly meeting Tuesday, December 6 at  
6:00 PM in Northampton.  
This is a great place to find answers to questions and learn the latest  
about the .Net environment and related areas such as metadata via its'  affiliated 
SIG. Software developers, project managers, students and anyone  interested 
in software development, particularly on the Microsoft platform are  encouraged 
to attend.   
The next presentation will  be: 
Windows  Sharepoint Services and Sharepoint Portal Services
by Kuang  Zhang 
Windows Sharepoint Services are used to create collaborative team sites.  
Sharepoint Portal Services are used to aggregate multiple team sites. This talk  
will discuss the pros and cons of Sharepoint as a collaboration platform and  
comment on ways in which Sharepoint can be customized to work with metadata  
repositories and external information services. 
Kuang Zhang, Director of Software Development at Court Square  Data Group and 
holds a BSEE from the University of Pittsburgh. At Fallon  Community Health 
Plan he led a team that designed and implemented a system using  Windows 2003, 
SQL Server 2000, Sharepoint Portal Server 2003, and Biztalk Server  2004. He 
has led several projects for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, including a  knowledge 
management system to enable data interchange between manufacturing,  research, 
and sales.
