I am glad to see someone from that area represented in HT, as an RPI
Alumni and with family
in Troy, I have been watching the TechValley effort to see how we might
hook up,
for those that haven't guessed, it can been seen at:
http://www.techvalley.org/

For those interested, I have posted a summary by State (and Country) of
those in the HT membership,
the short form is mainly MA (as one might expect) plus CT, MA, VT, NH
with groups in ND and CA
for 23 state (well 22 and Ontario) and 9 countries.

Clearly there are two senses of out-reach for HT, the 'local' activities
and direct contract of those within
2 hours driving distance and the wider audience of Hidden Workers in the
whole world.

There are many discussions in the virtual world about how the work
environment can change and evolve,
one of the oldest I know of is at:
                http://fes.uwaterloo.ca/mailman/listinfo/futurework
                 http://www.fes.uwaterloo.ca/Research/FW/

For local events, our most effective ones have be either pure
networking, which tend to be more very
local, or very topic specific, like ValleyWood.

SO what do other think about making the group more useful to all ??

Rich, Webmaster etc etc etc
