Splitters: In theory, each perfect two-way splitter only provides 1/2 of the signal level to each output leg. Very good quality splitters also loose about 25% of the signal before the split. Radio Shack splitters loose 50% of the signal before the split, so you are left with 25% on each leg. In radio terms we say the loss thru the Radio Shack two-way spliter is 6 dB. 4-way spliteres are a series-parallel connection of two-way splitters, so expect 9 dB loss to each leg. That's not too much, but many splitters in series can soon lower the signal level, big time. Jim Ussailis Jim at nationalwireless.com
